Rag Paper

Paper made of cotton is commonly referred to as rag paper. Traditionally cotton rag papers were made entirely of cotton textiles however today the most common source is cotton linters. Cotton linters are the waste from production of things like cotton t-shirts. Not all rag papers are made entirely of cotton and often the manufacturer will provide a cotton content amount like 75% rag. Rag papers are generally more stable than their pulp counterparts. Cotton is naturally acid- and lignin-free.
