Tips on Storing your Photographic Prints
Rather than re-writing an article on how to properly store and display your prints, we figured it would be better to share a great article from HP.
Aside from the article there are a few other side notes for storing and displaying your prints:
- Using a UV protective print spray will extend the life of your print and protect it from harmful environmental factors.
- Let your print sit 24 hours to out-gas after printing. If it’s a canvas print let it sit 24-48 hours.
- Always choose archival materials for display and storage. Acidic material (like cardboard) can make your prints turn yellow over time.
- If you’re framing your print, using UV-resistant glass can add more print life. This is more important if your print will be receiving a significant amount of direct sun light.
