How do our Customer Service and Sales representatives know so much about all our products? The staff is trained bi-monthly by the head of our Techincal Marketing team. The associates are divided into groups, to allow for phone and email response coverage, and trained in sessions lasting about 45mins to an hour.
This month’s second training session, pictured above, reviewed different types of media and their applications and printer compatibility. For example, “If a customer calls asking: I have an HP Z3200 and am looking for a textured paper - what do you recommend?” The sheets pictured on the table are lists of paper organized by finish and application, then listed by popularity and suggestion.
Staff training topics are decided by employee request, customer emails, new product launches and need-to-know updates. Categories studied vary from software, media, printers/hardware, new products, applications and upcoming rebate deadlines.
