Epson Enters Dye Sublimation - SureColor F-Series F6070 & F7070

Epson has officially entered the dye sublimation market with the introduction of the new SureColor F-Series line of printers. The F-Series Dye Sublimation printers from Epson are designed for quality production of soft signage, sportswear, apparel, accessories, customized promo items and other additional novelties. There will be a 44” model, the Epson SureColor F6070 and the 64” SureColor F7070 Printer. Both the SureColor F6070 and F7070 Printers are built and supported from the ground up by Epson, ensuring quality through and through.

The new Epson SureColor F-Series of Dye Sublimation Printers will have high quality output up to 1,440 x 720 dpi as well as utilize the Epson MicroPiezo TFP Print Head. This new printer will also use the 4 color (CMYK) Epson Ultrachrome DS Ink set that produces an extreme color gamut with vibrant colors, intense blacks, sharp contours, and smooth gradations. The ink will be a cost effective, refillable system that has high-capacity 1.5 liter refill packs.

Along with the new printers, Epson also introduced their new line of dye-sublimation transfer papers that are specifically designed for the new Epson SureColor F-Series. Two types of transfer paper will be available with the launch of the new F-Series printers. The first is the Epson low-tack adhesive which is dedicated for high-end cut-and-sew fabric and apparel production. The second transfer paper is the Epson standard multipurpose paper which is ideal for a variety of transfer applications including use on soft or rigid surfaces, including t-shirts, mouse pads, and ceramics. Both of these papers will have a unique chemical coating that will allow for a heavier ink loading and providing superior color. They will be available in 44 inch and 64 inch rolls and will be 328 feet long.

Finally, the Epson SureColor F-Series will come with the Wasatch SoftRIP software to drive the printers. The SureColor F6070 Printer will include the full version of the SoftRIP with a simple setup that will allow the user to print sellable output right out of the box. The Epson F7070 Printer will include the SoftRIP TX that is specifically designed with features catering to textile printing.

Both Printers will be available sometime in summer of 2013. If you have any interest in purchasing one of Epson’s new F-Series Dye Sublimation printers give us a call at 800.771.9665.
