ONYX 11 – What New Features does Version 11 have?

In the fall of 2013, Onyx released ONYX 11 an update to ONYX 10.2.5.  ONYX 11 contains 21 improved features that simplify printing, reduce waste and optimize color.

A few we will cover in this blog post are: Color Swatch Books, Predictable Printing and Sewing Marks.  These are 3 of my favorite advancements over ONYX 10.2.5.

Color Swatch Books-This versatile tool helps with the color selection and color matching processes. It is now easier than ever to characterize spot colors under different print conditions. You can print a variation of a specified color to determine the desired output in up to three dimensions. This tool allows you to match a  color with unprecedented ease.  It is available in ONYX Thrive, ONYX Production House and ONYX PosterShop.

Predictable Printing- New features include a revamped Print Preview titled “Nesting Preview” which provides a view of the actual image in color. There are also new job properties, like rotating your image from the Print Preview.

Sewing Marks- In this program, you can easily add marks for sewing and hemming output to reduce finishing time.

Other features include: Integrated Job Ticketing, Expanded Job Properties Window, Rotate jobs immediately when opening files, Job and Keyword search tool, Disproportionate Scaling, Latest generation in TIP technologies, Enhanced cutting technologies, Auto configuration for Thrive installation*, Thrive Production Manager II*,  and introducing ONYX Connect*

New Color Features : ChromaBoost™, Spectral Calibration, Specialty and Spot color ink restriction, Improved i1 device support, pause and resume color measurements, New Quality Evaluation Images.
