Wasatch Releases New Version SoftRIP 7.1

Wasatch recently released version 7.1 of their popular RIP and print management software SoftRIP. The new version contains support for Direct-to-Garment printing, a brand new Color Neighborhood Analyzer, XML job processing, and improvements in parallel processing. Speed increases when driving multiple printers, bug fixes, and support for 3 new additional foreign languages are also included in the new version.

Example of Wasatch Image Neighborhood Tool

A powerful addition to the Color Atlas Generator that you may already be familiar with that was introduced in the new version is the Color Neighborhood Analyzer. You can use the color picker, manually enter a color value, or capture the color using a spectrophotometer to choose the color you want to match. This makes it a tremendously easier process even on hard-to-match surfaces whether it be textile, metal, or more traditional medias. After selecting a target color this tool creates a 100-swatch test pattern around your chosen color. You can then print your pattern, press to a substrate if necessary, and compare to your reference color to select the perfect color match. This tool makes it simple to match the spot colors on materials that your discerning customers demand.

Enhanced Direct-to-Garment printing support is now available for the Epson F-2000 with the latest version of SoftRIP. The new version takes advantage of the ease of use and image printing precision current SoftRIP customers already enjoy to the direct-to-garment market. By using the aforementioned Color Neighborhood Analyzer or Color Atlas Generator you can attain the perfect color with smooth color gradation for a high resolution print.

The DTG support adds new features including improved white ink support and a new Auto-Generation feature for automatic white underlayment. Combine this with the Wasatch Tracer and printing to dark garments has never been easier and more economical.

Example XML Code used in Wasatch

XML processing is another new feature that version 7.1 introduces. This can ease job submission, quickly apply uniform image manipulations, and streamline workflow. It can also be used for the creation of custom user interfaces that run in web browsers, using HTML and JavaScript. In conjunction with Wasatch ImageNET jobs can be submitted from across the office or across the world. This is also a significantly useful tool for those who want to add it as a backend automatic job submission tool piped directly from their web printing interface.

The new features in 7.1 will help anyone from the small home printing outfit to the high volume print shop. It can increase color accuracy as well as streamline everyday workflows. Now it can work as a backend to your print server web page to automate nearly every process and facet of your operation. This version is currently available for sale as well as a free upgrade to current customers covered under the 180 day support contract.
